Protesters say plans to change the name of an arts venue in Bishop's Stortford by April 2021 are not good enough.

Anti-racism campaigners want the Rhodes Arts Complex to drop its reference to Cecil Rhodes because of his links to colonialism and white supremacy.

The calls came following the death of George Floyd in the US and the many Black Lives Matter protests that followed.

Protests against a number of statues and memorials to Cecil Rhodes began in the wake of George Floyd's death in America

Thousands signed petitions calling for the Hertfordshire venue to be renamed and there are now plans to do that - but not for another four years.

Protesters have gathered outside the theatre to insist that is not soon enough.
