Cruise ship spotted off the Suffolk coast causes intrigue
A large cruise ship has been spotted anchored off the coast near Lowestoft, an unusual sight for a vessel of this kind.
The Queen Victoria, operated by Cunard has been attracting lots of attention from residents along a stretch off the Suffolk coast, being seen between Lowestoft and Kessingland.
It's not unusual for Lowestoft to be chosen as a place to anchor, particularly in bad weather and over the weekend there were significant strong westerly winds.
A number of oil tankers could also be seen anchored nearby.
One local resident said he could see up to fourteen tankers on the horizon in the days running up to the arrival of the cruise ship, with a number of them still there once the ship arrived at the weekend.
Cunard confirmed to ITV News Anglia that the cruise ship was there because of the weather conditions.
