NHS announces a further seven coronavirus patients have died in the Anglia region

A further seven patients have passed away with coronavirus in hospitals in the Anglia region. The NHS announced eight patients had died in the area on Thursday and reported 24 deaths on Wednesday.

The total number of patients dying in the hospitals in the Anglia region has now reached 4,058 and the total number of deaths in all settings, including care home, hospitals and in the community is 5,827.



Southend Hospital in Essex said three Covid-19 patients had lost their lives between 26th June and 1st July taking the total number of deaths at the hospital to 236.

Bedford Hospital reported a further three deaths on the 5th June, 20th June and 30th June. Bedfordshire has the highest coronavirus infection rate in the East of England and the highest death rate.
