Saying 'I do': The couples preparing to get married after lockdown

Small weddings can be held from Saturday as restrictions are lifted and that news made for some happy couples in the Anglia region.

Norfolk bride Chloe Medlicott was to arrive at her wedding in a horse and carriage with 90 people going to the church and 150 at the reception.

But love in the time of coronavirus means a much smaller ceremony for Chloe and her husband-to-be and Dan Southwood when they tie the knot.

There will be just 17 people at their wedding in Sutton in Norfolk and no reception or honeymoon but they don't mind at all.

Chloe and Dan will be among the first couples in England to marry since lockdown began - the ceremony only a day later than their original date.

The couple reckon they've saved about £3,000 which means more money to spend on the honeymoon once all this is over.

Nigel Gillingham and Sarah Silman from Brackley in Northamptonshire will also be walking down the aisle together on Saturday.

Nigel and Sarah's big day has been in the diary since the couple got engaged last year - but only now do they realise how lucky they were to save that particular date.

The guest list has shrunk from 60 down to six - although they do have a big party pencilled in for next year.

Sarah is also having to wear a Plan B dress as she couldn't get any alterations done on the one she originally brought during lockdown.
