A four-year-old girl has been left with a "potentially life-changing head injury" after running into the road between stationary vehicles - including an ice-cream truck.

She was hit by a silver Mitsubishi L200 car on Finedon Road in Burton Latimer, near Kettering, around 2.45pm on Wednesday, July 1.

Police say it's thought the little girl had just visited an ice-cream van and ran into the road from between that and other stationary vehicles.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward and for any CCTV or dash cam footage from the time.
