The four hospitals in the Anglia region where patients are still dying with Covid-19
Fifty patients have died with coronavirus in the past 10 days in the Anglia region with 35 of them in four hospitals in Essex and Northamptonshire.
The NHS announced on Monday there had been two further deaths which is the highest figure after a weekend for a fortnight. Last Monday the NHS reported no deaths and the week before it was one.
In the past 10 days, Basildon Hospital in Essex has reported 15 patients have passed away with Covid-19 include one on Sunday. In total, 302 patients have died at the Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Another patient died at Southend Hospital on Saturday with nine passing away in the past 10 days.
There have been eight deaths at Northampton General Hospital and three at Kettering General. Health official in Northamptonshire had been concerned that infection rate was falling at a slower rate than surrounding areas.
Most hospitals in the Anglia region have seen no coronavirus deaths in recent days. The average number of deaths announced each day in the past week has been seven compared with 10 the previous week.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 4,000 patients have died in the region's hospitals and the total death toll, including deaths in care homes, hospices and the community is now 5,756.
