12 more patients die with Covid-19 pushing hospital death toll past 4,000 in the Anglia region
The NHS has reported on Saturday that a further 12 patients have died with coronavirus in hospitals in the Anglia region - the highest daily figure for a week.
It means that since the start of the pandemic, 4,011 people have now died in all the hospitals in the Anglia region, which includes the East of England, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.
When the number of people who have died with Covid-19 in care homes, hospices and in the community are included, the total death toll in the Eastern Counties is more than 5,700.
The NHS reported two hospital deaths in the Anglia region in its Friday figures and 11 on both Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday's figure is the highest since 16 deaths were announced last Saturday.

Patients have died in recent days at Basildon and Southend hospitals in Essex and at Northampton General and Kettering General hospitals in Northamptonshire.
The North West Anglia NHS Trust, which runs Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon, reported a further three patients had died between the 24th and 26th June.
Essex and Northamptonshire have seen more deaths from coronavirus in June than other parts of the Anglia region. Northampton General Hospital has seen 47 patients dying in June and there have been 26 deaths at Kettering Hospital.
