A rugby club in the Fens has been targeted by vandals for the second time in two months.

On both occasions, the posts at Wisbech Rugby Club were badly damaged.

The club had only just reinstalled the posts following the first incident in April, when vandals struck again this week.

Once again, the posts were pulled from the ground and left on the floor.

Police are investigating the latest incident of criminal damage which happened between 6pm on June 23 and 8.30am on June 24.

The club say that the attacks couldn't have happened at a worst time with finances already tight due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Writing on Facebook, a Wisbech Rugby Club spokesperson said: "To the expense and effort of the club the damaged was repaired. Two months later and we suffer the same senseless vandalism attack. What do these thugs get from it?"

Anyone with information is being asked to call the police on 101 quoting crime reference number 35/41019/20.
