Murder investigation launched after body of a man found in Northampton house

A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a house in Northampton.

Police were called to Littlewood Close on Tuesday morning (23 June) after concerns were raised for the welfare of 53-year-old Andrew Pomroy.

Officers found him dead at the scene.

A 43 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police are treating this as an isolated incident and said extra patrols will be taking place in the Dallington area to reassure the community.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious between Saturday night and Tuesday morning in Littlewood Close.

“We are encouraging anyone with any information about Andrew’s death to come forward," Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Joe Banfield, said.

“If you saw or heard anything suspicious in the Littlewood Close area anytime from the evening of Saturday, June 20, to the morning of Tuesday, June 23, please contact us, no matter how small or insignificant you think your information might be.

“Specially trained officers have been deployed to support Andrew’s family at what is an incredibly devastating time.”
