Jamie Oliver thanks 'superhero' staff at Addenbrooke's hospital in emotional video message

Jamie Oliver has paid an emotional tribute to staff at Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge.

In a video message, the Essex chef called all the staff there "true superheroes" and praised the work they are doing during the coronavirus pandemic.

He also spoke about the previous surgeries he'd had at the hospital over the years.

"You are an amazing hospital", Jamie said.

"We've always been grateful to you guys locally, but now more than ever with COVID-19, I mean, what can be said? The true heroes, the true superheroes!

“Me and my family are so grateful just to have you there. We know that you’ve been looking after our community like your own family, so thank you for putting them first, thank you for risking your own lives.

"I just want to say thank you, keep doing what you are doing."

Jamie also thanks the hospital's charity, Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust, for their fundraising work.
