16 more Covid deaths in the Anglia region with 10 in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire
According to NHS figures released on Saturday, 16 more hospital patients have died with coronavirus in the Anglia region - 12 more than on Friday.
Ten of the patients died in Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire where local health officials have been concerned about high infection rates and about how the number of cases have failed to decline as fast as in neighbouring areas.
The total number of people who have died in the Anglia region since the start of the pandemic is now 5,670.
That figure includes deaths in care homes and the community as well as in hospitals. It also includes those who have died with Covid-19 on their death certificate but where there was no positive test.
