Man arrested in connection with murder in Kettering is released as victim is named
Police have released a man arrested in connection with the murder of a 37-year-old woman from Kettering.
Hayley Louise Adams was found dead in Russell Street at around 6.20pm on Monday (June 15).
A 33-year-old man had been in custody on suspicion of killing her but he has now been released with no further action after a consultation with the CPS.
Detectives from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Major Crime Team said today they have carried out a detailed investigation over the past 48 hours.
They also said that a 42-year-old man has been charged with an assault on a 33-year-old man in the same street on the same day, and will appear before magistrates on July 6.
Wayne Steele, who lives in Mill Road in Kettering, has also been charged with possession of a prohibited article and possession of a taser.
He appeared before magistrates yesterday and has been remanded in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Joe Banfield is the Senior Investigating Officer for the case.
He said he can understand why the case may seem confusing, but that the public should be assured that police are doing all they can:
