Parkrunners create 'Strava art' to keep motivated during lockdown

It's a question many have asked during the past few weeks - just how do how do you keep your lockdown exercise interesting? Well it seems a group of runners in Essex has the answer.

Chelmsford Central parkrun - which has been suspended during the pandemic - challenged its regular participants to create shapes using GPS app Strava.

Since then dozens of people have created animal outlines like sharks, turtles and even elephants. Organisers say it's the perfect way to keep amused and fit.

Parkrun events across the world have been suspended until at least the end of June.

The Central Chelmsford parkrun is one of the biggest in the country, with up to 800 people taking part each Saturday.
