21 more hospital patients die with coronavirus in the Anglia region

A further 21 patients have died with coronavirus taking the total number of people dying in hospitals in the Anglia region to 3,706.

The NHS announced on Monday that 19 patients had died with 28 deaths announced the previous day.

Separate figures released by the Office of National Statistics and the Care Quality Commission, which include deaths in care homes, hospices and in community put the total number of people dying in the Anglia region at more than 5,200.

Bedford Hospital reported a further six patients has died in Tuesday's figures although three of the deaths occurred between 6th and 14th May. The total number of patients dying at Bedford Hospital is 174.

The North West Anglia NHS Trust, which runs Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon, announced five more patients had died there on 31st May and 1st June.
