Hertfordshire police trying to find two missing boys, aged 8 and 12

A search effort is underway to find two boys who have gone missing from a village in Hertfordshire.

The boys, aged 12 and eight, have gone missing from Weston, which is near Baldock.

The county's police tweeted an appeal on Sunday, 31 May, adding "they may be walking towards the Stevenage area".

A photo of a blue rucksack, which the younger of the boys could be carrying, has been released.

The eight-year-old is described as four foot five inches, with ginger hair, a t-shirt, shorts/trousers and navy blue trainers.

The 12-year-old is five foot four inches, with ginger hair, navy shorts, t-shirt and green khaki trainers.

Hertfordshire Police said: "Anyone who may have seen the children since they were reported missing, is asked to contact us straight away. You can report information online at http://herts.police.uk/report, or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR176 of 31/05.

"If you believe you are with both or either of them now or have seen them in the last few moments, please call 999 immediately."
