Hunstanton and Wells Coastguard saves eighteen people and five dogs who get cut off by tide at Brancaster beach
Hunstanton and Wells Coastguard teams had to save eighteen people and five dogs yesterday, after they were cut off by the tide at Brancaster beach near King's Lynn.
Fourteen adults, four children and the animals were brought safely back on RNLI lifeboats after becoming stranded on Scolt Head Island.
They were trying to wade back to shore with children on their shoulders in deep water that was fast flowing.
The hovercraft had to make several journeys and the coast guard is now warning people not to walk over to the island.
