Murder investigation into death at a Suffolk pub dropped by police
Police have dropped the murder investigation that was launched after a 45-year-old woman was found dead after a party in a Suffolk pub last year.
An ambulance was called to the Magpie Inn in Norwich Road, Little Stonham, just before 3.30 in the morning on Sunday, November 10.
The woman, Irina Kuzmina from Purfleet in Essex was unresponsive when paramedics first arrived and died at the scene a short time later.
Suffolk Police launched a murder investigation at the time but now say that following a 'comprehensive' investigation and the completion of a pathology report, there is nothing to suggest a third party was involved in the death.A 52-year-old woman from Dagenham was arrested on suspicion of murder but will now face no further action in respect of the death.
However, police say the woman has been summonsed to appear before magistrates in Ipswich in July, where she will be formally charged with two counts of common assault.
It is believed that Irina Kuzmina and her partner were both assaulted on the night of the party.
