Landlord stabbed to death at Braintree pub named as Scott Gilhooly

A pub landlord who was stabbed to death at his pub in Braintree over the weekend has been named as Scott Gilhooly.

Mr Gilhooly, 44, was stabbed in his neck and chest at The Swiss Bell pub in Mountbatten Road on Sunday morning.

Lawrence Bourke, 23, from Braintree, has been charged with murder and is due to appear via video link at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today on Tuesday.

Officers are continuing to carry out patrols in Braintree.
