Artists unite to help 11-year-old from Essex with lockdown painting project
More than 150 artists from across the world are helping a young boy from Essex finish his painting project.
Noah, who's 11 years old, was born with hydrocephalus and he also has cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
To keep him busy during lockdown, he’s been painting on bits of cardboard from his home in Dedham near Colchester.
His dad Nathan Jones decided to put out a post on social media inviting artists to help complete Noah’s artwork and they have been overwhelmed by the response.
“We really expected a handful of artists to get involved and now over 150 it seems have got involved and it’s just staggering that somebody wants to do this," he said.
“It’s all been amazing and all very different so every day we get something sent back to us so every day we’re having some new joy.”
Artists from Australia, America, Colombia and across Europe have said they’ll create something from Noah’s work.
The family hope the finished pieces will go on display at Colchester hospital and when they’re auctioned off, will raise money for the children’s ward where Noah has received care over the years.
