New windfarm nears completion off East Anglian coast
A new windfarm being built 25 miles off the Suffolk coast has reached a major milestone. All of the turbines on the East Anglia ONE project have now been fitted.
The project's owners, Scottish Power Renewables and Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, say the 102 turbines will produce enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 630,000 homes.
Senior managers say the windfarm has delivered tangible benefits including the creation of 800 jobs and an investment of more than £70 million.
