More than £186,000 raised for family of pregnant nurse who died of Covid-19 in Luton
More than £186,000 has been raised for the family of a pregnant nurse who died at Luton and Dunstable hospital after contracting coronavirus.
Mary Agyeiwaa Agyapong ,28, was admitted to the hospital on April 7 and died five days later. She had worked on a general ward at the hospital for five years.
Her baby daughter, Mary, was successfully delivered by caesarian section.
Two weeks earlier her father Stephen died from suspected Covid-19.
David Carter, who is the chief executive of the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, says Mary was a “fantastic nurse and a great example of what we stand for in this trust.”
A GoFundMe page was set up for her husband Ernest Boateng and their children AJ and Mary.
