Police fine anglers for making long journeys to Cambridgeshire lakes
Cambridgeshire Police have fined fisherman who'd travelled long distances to fish in the county's lakes.
Three people found fishing in a lake at Mepal near Ely had travelled from Lowestoft, Northampton and even Wolverhampton.
Officers issued fixed penalty notices after the fisherman were discovered at the old Mepal Outdoor Centre.
Meanwhile Cambridge Police said they had fined two people caught fishing at Burnside Lakes after they travelled 22 miles.
Cambridgeshire Police say people should not be leaving their houses to go fishing under the Government's coronavirus guidance.
