Police chief writes to children of his officers to say thanks for being 'part of the team'
The Chief Constable of Northamptonshire has written to all the children of his officers thanking them for their help and support in the coronavirus crisis.
Nick Adderley thanks the children for being 'part of the team' and says their parents are doing a really important job.
The heart-warming letter has been welcomed by mums and dads on the force.
Mr Adderley goes on to thank the children for washing their hands properly, doing their school work and only going for one walk a day, making it possible for their parents to work.
He says this makes them part of the team and tells them they should be really proud of the job their parents do.
Mr Adderley also says he understands how the children feel at missing out on birthdays, sport and time with their family and friends.
He says when the children clap for carers on a Thursday night they should know they are also clapping for their mums and dads.
