NHS mental health trust sets up fundraising page to take donations from the public

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust have launched a just giving page to take donations from the public to support it's staff and service users during the coronavirus pandemic.

Bosses at the trust say it is in response to offers of help and assistance they have been receiving from people since the outbreak began.

The money raised through the just giving page will be used to buy fruit and vegetable boxes for staff who do not have the time to go shopping, or to provide extra treats for inpatients or those at home self-isolating.

Dawn Collins, Deputy Chief Nurse at NSFT, said:

One of the fundraisers who has already raised money for the trust, is eight-year-old Sophie Cole.

She said she was inspired to raise money for frontline staff after seeing Captain Tom Moore's sponsored walk that raised millions.

Sophie, from Cringleford in Norfolk will run a 10k on Saturday to raise money for the trust and have already raised £150.
