Man arrested after two police cars set on fire outside Harwich police station

A man's been arrested on suspicion of arson after two police cars were badly damaged in a fire outside a police station.

The cars, which were parked around the back of Harwich police station, caught fire just before 11am on Tuesday, 21 April.

Several roads surrounding the station were closed while the fire was extinguished:

A 62-year-old man was arrested shortly after the incident and is currently in custody.

A cordon remains in place and the public have been asked to avoid the area.
