Staff at James Paget Hospital clap and cheer as coronavirus patient is discharged
A hospital in Norfolk has released a heartwarming video of the moment a coronavirus survivor was given a guard of honour by staff after recovering from the disease.
Doctors and nurses at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston clapped and cheered as the patient was taken in a wheelchair through the hospital on her way to be discharged.
The patient, who was visibly emotional, can be seen clapping back to the staff who cared for her.
Chair of the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Anna Davidson, tweeted that it was "wonderful to watch" and showed "the compassion and kindness of our people", while a nurse who can be seen in the video commented: "You can't tell because of the PPE but we were all crying!"
