Suffolk darts world champion Peter Wright pays tribute to NHS staff with new hairstyle
Suffolk's darts world champion Peter Wright paid his own personal tribute to NHS staff fighting coronavirus on the opening night of the new PDC Home Tour event.
'Snakebite', 50, is known for his extravagant hairstyles and as a mark of respect for the health workers battling on the frontline against Covid-19, he donned a striking blue-and-white NHS logo on the side of his head.
Wright's wife Jo is a hairdresser and always styles his hair for televised tournaments.
Wright was taking part in the opening night of the new PDC Home Tour - a new tournament where players broadcast matches from their own homes via video calls.
Each player films the action on their mobile phones, and the matches are then streamed on the Professional Darts Corporation's TV channel.
Despite being the reigning world champion, Wright won't be adding the Home Tour title to his honours list though.
He was knocked out of the tournament after failing to win his group, with Welshman Jamie Lewis taking top spot instead.
The event will run for the next 31 nights.
