Norfolk and Norwich Hospital to leave special measures
Hospital watchdog the Care Quality Commission has recommended that the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust leaves special measures.
Professor Ted Baker, England's Chief Inspector of Hospitals, said inspectors found enough progress to make the recommendation that the hospital, which was placed into special measures in 2018, be from special measures.
Inspectors rated trust as Good for being caring and effective and Requires Improvement for being safe, responsive, and well-led. The trust’s overall rating remains as Requires Improvement.
Professor Baker said that while Inspectors had been impressed by improvements in services like end of life care and outpatients there were still areas where more work needed to be done.
