Sir Andy Murray pays tribute to Addenbrooke's hospital staff

Tennis legend Sir Andy Murray has paid tribute to staff at Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge.

In a video posted on the hospital's charitable trust youtube channel, Sir Andy thanked staff, saying they were doing an incredible job at this "extremely difficult time."

Sir Andy said: "Just want to say a big thanks for all of your hard work, dedication and the sacrifices that you're making at this time for all of us."

A few months ago Sir Andy visited the hospital for a scan, and he said the staff were "fantastic and extremely helpful."

He said he'd made a donation to the Addenbrooke's Charitable trust to thank them for his care and all they're now doing.

The charitable trust raises money for the hospital - including funding for equipment to deal with the outbreak of Covid-19.
