Kettering care home residents go viral on TikTok

Dancing residents at a Kettering care home have gone viral on social media platfrom TikTok.

Staff at Westhill Park care home, which houses the elderly and those with dementia, produced the video to keep spirits high during the coronavirus outbreak. Little did they know, their account would get over 32 thousand likes.

TikTok is a platform where users can upload and watch short clips. Particularly popular with youngsters, it's perhaps best known for its viral dance routines.

Lifestyle Manager Hannah Kinloch and Lifestyle Assistant Sharon Kawonga taught them the routines to boost morale during these difficult times.

Because of their age, the care home residents are self-isolating. As the residents' families have not been allowed to visit, the videos have been a key way for them to stay connected.
