Police stop driver playing Pokémon Go in Stevenage during coronavirus lockdown
Police on patrol in Stevenage stopped a driver in the town who was playing Pokémon GO during the coronavirus lockdown.
Stevenage Police tweeted that they pulled over a vehicle on the Stevenage Leisure Park.
When they asked the motorist why they were in the area and not at home, the driver replied that they were playing the popular mobile game.
In a tweet, the police said that playing Pokémon GO was not classed as "essential travel" and the driver was told to go home.
Police have been given new powers to fine anyone who ignores the lockdown measures, and anyone who doesn't pay could be taken to court.
