Essex County Council makes urgent appeal for protective equipment to fight Covid-19

Essex County Council has put out an urgent appeal for Personal Protective Equipment for its front line staff.

It's asking small business to offer up any masks, disposable gloves, aprons, goggles, overshoes or sanitising gel.

The equipment is needed to help care staff safely look after the most vulnerable residents in the coming days and weeks.

The council is calling on restaurants, gyms, beauty salons, nail bars , car body shops, tattoo artists, cleaning companies, hardware stores and schools, which have closed in support of suppressing the virus.

Essex County Council says it's willing to buy the items if businesses don't feel able to donate them.

It's urging businesses to email PPESupplies@essex.gov.uk or message them with your PPE supply details including quantity and postcode, and a contact phone number and they will be in touch ( just a reminder not to post personal details)
