Center Parcs in Suffolk and Bedfordshire will close during coronavirus outbreak

All bookings at Suffolk and Bedfordshire Center Parcs sites are being cancelled as the company closes it's UK villages amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The venues at Elveden and Woburn Forest will both close on Friday, March 20 and not reopen until April 16.

The company say they are now being inundated with calls and requests for help and are urging people not to call them.

A statement on their website said that they had no option but to shut down. The government has been advising people to limit social contact and only travel when essential.

No venues or sites have been officially ordered to shut down, but many businesses feel they cannot continue to open and keep people safe.

Center Parcs have confirmed that those who have booked will receive a full refund, or be allowed to rebook their holiday with a discount. A Center Parcs spokesperson said:

Information has been posted on the Center Parcs website informing guests about their options.

It reads:

"Our Contact Centre team are inundated with calls and we would ask that you wait for us to contact you, rather than calling us directly.

"If you are on a break in the future and currently not impacted by the closure dates, please do not call our Contact Centre to allow us to deal with guests with imminent breaks. We are planning to be open 17th April 2020 to welcome our guests. However, please keep a close eye on our website.

"We recognise that this will be disappointing news and we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in these exceptional circumstances."
