Entire Cambridge United first team squad and staff in self-isolation
Cambridge United have confirmed their entire first team squad and staff are in self-isolation after one of the players came into contact with someone who had previously tested positive for coronavirus.
Despite the isolation, the U's say that no one at the club has been diagnosed with the virus, or shown any symptoms, and the action is purely a "precautionary measure."
The team's training base at Clare College Sports Ground will also be closed for the next week.
"Whilst no member of the first team has shown symptoms of COVID-19, the Club have been made aware of a first team player who had previously been exposed to someone who last week tested positive for the virus," a club statement read.
"To clarify, this is a precautionary measure as, at this stage, none (players and staff) have tested positive for Coronavirus.
"The Club continues to work on managing the situation and determining the best course of action during this difficult period."
