The Milton Keynes school children using their uniforms to stop speedy parent drivers

Pupils at Shepherdswell Academy in Milton Keynes are cracking down on parents who drive too fast or park dangerously outside their school.

The school council's seven-year-old parking enforcers are taking a new approach to try and encourage parents to slow down and park more sensibly. They've been laying out items of school uniform on the yellow zig-zag lines to encourage them to drive more responsibly.

With a pre-school next door, students want to send a clear message to drivers on what can be a very busy estate, and the unconventional approach seems to be working.

Year two pupil Hollie says the clothing is supposed to represent a child:

The children have even been issuing 'parking tickets' to people who park on the kerb or the zig-zag lines.

However, it's not all enforcement, the children will give a thumbs-up to any driver who they think is being safe.

The school say it's something they will do every few weeks to remind parents to drive responsibly.
