Woman who tried to open door of a plane mid flight will be sentenced in Chelmsford today
A woman accused of trying to open plane door mid-flight will be sentenced today.
Chloe Haines, 26, was said to have tried to open the door of a passenger plane midway through a flight from the UK to Turkey.
She also is alleged to have assaulted a member of the Jet2 cabin crew as they tried to restrain her during the flight from Stansted.
Two RAF fighter jets were scrambled to meet the plane and escort it back to Stansted, where Haines was arrested by Essex Police upon landing.
The noise of the scrambled aircraft was so loud that a sonic boom was heard over parts of the Anglia region. Haines will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court later today for sentencing.
