Man charged with murder of Essex teenager outside pub near Chelmsford

A man has been charged with murder after a teenager was stabbed to death outside a pub in Essex.

Liam Taylor, 19, was killed outside the Rose and Crown in Writtle on the evening of Friday, 31 January.

Police have now charged 20-year-old Ryan Filby, of Evelyn Place in Chelmsford, with murder.

He will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Friday, 7 February.

Police have also arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

They had previously detained an 18-year-old man on suspicion of murder and possession of drugs and a 21-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder; both have been released on bail until Tuesday, 25 February.
