Police steps up patrols in Ipswich after teenager is threatened with a knife
Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was threatened with a knife in Ipswich.
The 16-year-old boy was cycling through the entrance to Chanty Park at 7am on Thursday, when a man gestured for him to stop.
When the boy stopped, the man pulled a knife out from the left pocket of his jeans and two other people appeared from the bushes.
The three of them stood by the boy on the bicycle and asked him if he had any money on him.
He said he didn't and cycled away to safety.
Suffolk police have described the first suspect as a white man in his 30s who is tall and slim. He was wearing a black beanie hat and a black and red printed scarf was pulled up over his nose. He was also wearing a black North Face jacket with a logo on the right side of the chest area, black skinny jeans, black boots and brown leather gloves.
The second suspect is said to be around 5ft 8'' and was wearing a plain green jacket and a black beanie hat. It isn't known if they were male or female, but they were described as carrying a black or grey rucksack.
Police will carry out extra patrols in the Hadleigh Road area over the weekend. They are also asking to speak to anyone who may have captured dash-cam footage while driving down the road between 6.45am and 7.15am on Thursday.
