Woman's body found in Great Yarmouth river

Norfolk Police have recovered the body of an elderly woman from Breydon Water in Great Yarmouth.

Officers were called to the banks of the river, along with the Coastguard, at around 8am on Friday, 31 January.

The body was recovered and is believed to be that of a woman in her 70s.

According to Norfolk police, the death is not being treated as suspicious.

BroadsBeat, the force's marine unit, tweeted on Friday: "Very sad news as we started work today. Thanks to all involved last night and this morning."
