'Major incident' declared at medical centre in Bletchley after eight patients and staff assaulted

Eight people have been assaulted in a "major incident" at a doctors' surgery in Bletchley near Milton Keynes.

Police were called to the Parkside Medical Centre at 9am this morning Monday (20 January) after four members of staff and four members of the public were assaulted.

The centre says three of them were taken to hospital, but none of the injuries are life -hreatening.

Thames Valley Police said a man has been arrested on suspicion of multiple assaults.

The medical centre has been closed until further notice and measures are being put in place to offer support to anyone affected by the incident.

It has issued an urgent notice on their website and social media pages.

It said: "We have had a major incident this morning and the practice will therefore be closed until further notice.

"Please be patient, we will contact you as soon as we can to re-schedule your appointment.

"Please contact your local Pharmacy or 111 for medical advice."
