Off-duty police officers arrest man during their Christmas party in Cambridge

A group of police officers arrested a wanted man during their police Christmas party.

Cambridgeshire Police's Southern Impact Team spotted a “priority suspect” who was outstanding for recall to prison while enjoying their Christmas meal.

The officers said they “downed their knives and forks and surrounded the unsuspecting male" before arresting him and waiting for marked officers to transport him back to the police station.

They posted a picture to social media with the suspect using the hashtag "uninvited guest".

In a Facebook post, they wrote: “The team were aware of the numerous arrest attempts that had been made for this male already this week, so it seemed too good an opportunity to turn down.”

“More importantly no meals got cold in the execution of this mission.”
