Funeral held for former Cambridge University student killed in terror attack
The funeral of a former Cambridge University student, who died in the London Bridge terror attack last month, has taken place today.
Jack Merritt, 25, was attending a university prisoner rehabilitation event when he was killed in the City on 29 November.
Saskia Jones was also stabbed to death by 28-year-old convicted terrorist Usman Khan, who was shot dead by police following his attack.
Three other people were also injured in the attack.
After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Saskia was a volunteer at the conference co-ordinated by Jack Merritt from Cottenham.
The inquest hearing into the victims' deaths heard Saskia had graduated from Cambridge University in the summer of 2018 with a master's degree in criminology and had applied to join West Midlands Police.
Jack also had a master's degree in criminology at Cambridge having already completed a law degree at Manchester University.
The funeral service for Jack was held at Great St Mary's Church in Cambridge, while a memorial service for Saskia took place in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
