New East of England Ambulance Service boss confirmed

The East of England Ambulance Trust (EEAST) has named Dorothy Hosein as its permanent Chief Executive.

Ms Hosein was tasked with turning the troubled ambulance service around last year.

It came after she was credited with helping to improve the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn as its former chief executive.

The EEAST was facing a series of issues - from criticism over its missed monthly response time targets to problems with recruitment and staff morale.

Dorothy Hosein said: “I am delighted to be joining EEAST on a permanent basis. Over the last year, I have been proud to lead such a fantastic group of people – including both staff and volunteers."

She added: "We are currently developing our Corporate Strategy which sets out an exciting vision for how we will continue to deliver high-quality patient care while also supporting our people in the very challenging jobs that they do every day.”

The ambulance service praised her positive focus on "patient-centred care" as well as putting patients at the "heart of decision-making".
