Murder suspect released after stabbing of 25-year-old Northamptonshire mum
A 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murdering a young woman has been released with no further action, police said.
Levi Davis, 25, died following an incident in Wellingborough Road, Rushden, at around 8.30pm on Saturday.
A 27-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of her murder.
But Northamptonshire Police said they have now released the man after reviewing the evidence - including what they have called "high-quality CCTV footage which shows the entire incident from start to finish".
Officers described the investigation as "exceptionally fast-past" and said the decision to take no further action against the 27-year-old man had been taken following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
Jake Dean Swords, aged 27, of Rushden, has been charged with the attempted murder of another 27-year-old man.
Swords is next due to appear at Northampton Crown Court in January. Northamptonshire Police is not seeking anyone else in connection with this case.
