A man has died following a serious road crash on the A140

The A140 in Suffolk has been closed in both directions after a serious crash between a lorry and two cars earlier today.

The collision involved a DAF lorry, a van and a car. The male van driver died at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.

Police were called just after 6.30am on 11 December and emergency services are currently on the scene.

It happened at Little Stonham about ten miles north of Ipswich. Police say the electricity in the village will have to be switched off for several hours to allow them to recover the lorry. They expected this to happen at around 11:00am.

Diversions are in place but police have said that the new route will not be suitable for lorries or large vehicles.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and find another route if possible.
