Man arrested in Lowestoft after two police officers were attacked with acid
Two police officers have been hurt after being attacked with acid in Lowestoft.
The incident happened at around 04:45 this morning while the officers were on a routine callout on Tonning Street. Shortly after their arrival, a man sprayed noxious liquid at them.
A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Suffolk Police say the incident was “self-contained”. Both of the male officers were taken to hospital for treatment and are in a stable condition with minor injuries.
