Rod Stewart's ice hockey-playing son on joining Milton Keynes team
Rod Stewart has earned a reputation for performing in front of huge crowds, but his son, Liam Stewart, is a performer in his own right.
25-year-old Liam Stewart is an ice hockey player who recently joined Milton Keynes' team, MK Lightning. While Rod is best known for being a football fan, his interest in ice hockey is fuelled by Liam who started playing as a youngster in California.
"Obviously he's interested because I play now, but I grew up playing football. I guess I just chose hockey and it's worked out so far."
Liam is a British/New Zealand dual national. He joined MK Lightning from Skycity Stampede who are based in Queenstown, New Zealand. With them, Liam scored 21 goals and 33 points in 16 games this season. He's skated for Washington-based Spokane Chiefs.
