Homeless centre's call for more volunteers to extend opening hours
WATCH: ITV Anglia's Stuart Leithes reports on the Hope Centre's call for more volunteers.
A support centre for rough sleepers in Northampton has said it wants to extend its operating hours this winter.
The Hope Centre, on Campbell Street, helps homeless people with things like benefits claims and sleeping bags.
It is currently only open until 1pm, but wants to increase those hours until 8pm for winter.
However, the centre's management say they need more volunteers to achieve that goal.
Robin Burgess, Chief Executive of the Hope Centre, said any help was appreciated.
He said: "If you've got a few hours that you could maybe work 1pm-5pm or could work that valuable early evening time before any winter shelters open it would be so useful, so beneficial to homeless people.
