Maldon & Tiptree cause FA Cup surprise
Essex non-league club Maldon & Tiptree created one of the biggest shocks in the history of the Emirates FA Cup by beating SkyBet League Two side Leyton Orient 2-1.
The Isthmian League North Division title chasers had never reached the First Round proper of the FA Cup before this season, but made their historic day even more memorable at Brisbane Road.
Goals from Danny Parrish and Jorome Slew shocked the hosts, who managed to pull one back through James Dayton.
Parrish received a second yellow card for simulation after doing down under a challenge in the Orient penalty area. But the team nicknamed 'The Jammers' help on for a famous victory.
Under former Ipswich Town, Colchester United and Hull City defender Wayne Brown, Maldon & Tiptree have so far gone through the season unbeaten winning all bar one of their 20 league and cup games in all competitions.
And more than 600 followers of the Essex part-timers were in East London to watch history being made.
Elsewhere another Essex club were on the wrong end of an FA Cup giantkilling.

Ruel Sotiriou scored the winner six minutes from time.
Northampton Town avoided a cup upset by beating Chippenham Town 3-0. Valdaine Oliver scored twice at the National League South outfit.
