MK Dons appoint Russell Martin as new manager

MK Dons have appointed the former Norwich City captain Russell Martin as their new manager.

It comes after Paul Tisdale left the club by 'mutual consent' after the team's 3-1 loss against Tranmere.

MK Dons have lost 8 out of their last 9 league games.

Russell Martin will take charge immediately and his first match in charge will be at Stadium MK when MK Dons take on Port Vale in the first round proper of the FA Cup

Russell Martin has made over 580 appearances as a player across all four divisions in England as well as the Scottish Premiership, achieving five promotions while also earning 29 international caps for Scotland.

He moved to Stadium MK in January and played a crucial role in helping the Dons secure promotion from League Two at the first time of asking.
